Hi. I like to watch videos and they inspire some of my creative work. I hope these ones will inspire you too.

Isn’t the moving image the greatest magic trick of all?

The Humpty Dance
Folks who post videos of themselves dancing inspire me… with their ballsy attitude. Keep dancing guys.
Venice in a Day by Joerg Niggli
Venetian light is quite spectacular.
P.S. I can’t believe this was shot with a Canon G10.
Birth to 12 years old by Frans Hofmeester
How I feel about this video is pretty much summed up in this comment left on Hofmeester’s Vimeo page: “What a beautiful gift to your daughter.”
Each Moment is the Universe by Bruce Thierry Cheung
Live your best life. This idea has been recycled into countless books, movies, and talk shows (hello Oprah? It’s me). I thought every aspect has been exhausted until I came across this short film. Made up of candid real moments mixed in with some fine acting, this is a refreshing and thought-provoking film that asks the right questions.
Hello world.
Cause and Effect: How the Media you consume can change your life
I came across this video from Mitch Joel’s blog. It was cited together with Ashley Judd’s article. In this article, Judd not only eloquently defended herself from all the flack she received about her physical appearance, she also spoke out against the “misogynist assault on all women” when the media maliciously tears down celebrities’ poor physical appearances.
It’s funny, I’ve been (and still am) a long-time reader of fashion magazines but I’ve never wanted to be as thin as models (which I logically knew was impossible). I was raised in an environment that placed accomplishments above physical looks. But in the real world, I’ve found society to be completely opposite. As much as we like to believe the media causes women to develop all sorts of self-identity issues, I think we also have to look at ourselves and how we automatically judge others based on superficial appearances.
You will watch this eventually. Better do it now.
I love this - the combination of visual beauty and the song and the people and the tango. (And it makes me want to do another 8in8 songwriting madness, just because working with Damian is so much fun.)
Great example of how you should expend spring fever energy.

Love the small talk.

YOO-SEMMM-MEE-TEEE.
I’ve never been but the photographer part of me wants to go. After all, that’s where Ansel Adams captured his famous images.
People who have never been to YOO-SEMMM-MEE-TEEE (I really like saying it!) will enjoy this video. It films the national park over several days and nights. Parts of it look like the barren surface of the moon or a gray Grand Canyon. In the film, you get some idea how the park visitors interact with the environment (lots of rock climbers) and a clear view of the spectacular night sky.
